Experience Matters

Sheriff Butch Conway’s 38 years of law enforcement experience include service as a police officer, magistrate judge, police chief and sheriff in Gwinnett County. His experienced leadership led to the return of more than $8 million unused dollars from his budget over the last five years, an impressive savings for the county.

Programs that Work

Since taking office in 1997, Sheriff Conway has reinstated the Fugitive Unit to capture elusive criminals, established the 287(g) program to identify illegal immigrants charged with committing crimes in our county, expanded the county jail, started Operation Second Chance to rescue unwanted dogs and cats from euthanasia and has instituted many other beneficial programs.

Importance of Family

Butch has two beautiful daughters, Jennifer Conway Clay and Regina Conway Cann, four adorable grandsons, a lovely granddaughter and, in his words, "two great sons-in-law."
